NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Managers of the Sauk River Watershed District pursuant to Minnesota Statue 103D.605 will hold a hearing October 15, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. at the Sauk River Watershed District office located at 524 Fourth Street South in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.  The purpose of the hearing is to consider and take comments on the 2013 DNR Block Grant Project.

The project will address eroding shoreline or over grazed lake and stream banks which are known to contribute excess nutrients and sediment to lakes and streams. The estimated project cost is $33,333 with $25,000 being provided as grant from the State of Minnesota and additional funding and in-kind contributions ($8,333) being provided by the Watershed District, local landowners and cooperating local, state and federal agency partners.  Funds can be used for materials needed to reestablish native vegetation along shorelines.  Grant funds for this project were provided by the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment.

ORDINANCE NO. 742

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 150.02 OF THE SAUK CENTRE CITY CODE, CITY OF SAUK CENTRE, COUNTY OF STEARNS, STATE OF MINNESOTA, BY REPEALING SAID SECTION AND INSERTING NEW LANGUAGE THEREBY AMENDING REPRESENTATION ON PLANNING COMMISSION

 

BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAUK CENTRE:

Section One: Section 150.02 (Composition) is hereby repealed with new Section 150.02 inserted as follows:

§ 150.02  COMPOSITION.

(A) The City Planning Commission shall consist of 5 members all of which shall be appointed by the City Council.

(B) One member of the Commission shall come from the ranks of the City Council.

(C) All members shall be residents of the City of Sauk Centre and eligible to vote in its general and special elections.

(D) Each of the members shall be appointed for a 3-year term.

(E) Appointments to the Planning Commission shall be made at the second regular Council meeting in December of each calendar year for service the next calendar year with the exception of the Council Member who shall be appointed the first meeting of January.

(F)  Newly appointed members shall take the oath of office prescribed by law before assuming his or her duties. Each member shall continue in office until his or her successor has been appointed and qualified.

(G)  The terms of the Council member shall correspond to his or her respective official tenure.

(H) Vacancies shall be filled by the Council for the unexpired portion of any term.

        (I)  For purposes of transacting business 3 members will constitute a quorum.

(J) Any member may be removed by a 3/5 vote of the City Council.

(K)  Compensation for members will be determined by the City Council except that the Council member shall serve without compensation.

Section Two:  This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and publication.

The foregoing ordinance was duly passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Sauk Centre, Minnesota at its regular meeting on the 2nd day of October, 2013.
