1st Annual Nest Fest this Saturday


Cutline: The Eagle’s Healing Nest, which houses over 40 veterans suffering the invisible wounds of war and who are working to reintegrate back into society, will hold their first annual Nest Fest this Saturday in Sauk Centre. Eagle’s Healing Nest is located at the former home school property just north of Sauk Center on Highway 71. Pictured are two veterans who are currently staying at the Nest. Money raised during the event will go toward continued operation costs.

Aug. 30 event at Eagle’s Healing Nest will help raise funds for continued care for veterans

Eagle’s Healing Nest will host its first annual Nest Fest Saturday, Aug. 30.
The event will include an assortment of entertainment, including four live bands, a magician, a car and truck how, silent auction, and plenty of food and fun for kids, including a bounce house. Bands performing include Ben Schirmers, Misunderstood, Night Owls, and Tom Cat’s Alley.
The Eagle’s Healing nest is a residential housing facility in Sauk Centre for veterans suffering from the emotional woundsof war and need a place to stay until they reintegrate back into society.

Level 3 predatory offender no longer moving to Stearns County


Cyrus Kulp, a Level 3 predatory sex offender is no longer moving to rural Sauk centre and instead will be moving to a location in Hennepin County.

Cyrus Kulp is no longer moving to Stearns County.   He will be moving to a location Hennepin County.   The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is canceling the informational meeting scheduled for Monday August 25th at 6:00 P.M. in Padua.

SCFD among four departments to respond to fire along Hwy 71.


Sauk Centre Firefighters help battle a large fire just south of Long prairie on Highway 71 Friday.

The Sauk Centre Fire Department responded to a large fire at the Highway 27 Auto Salvage and 24 Hour Towniung building located just south fo Long prairie on Highway 71.

The north end of the building was completely engulfed in flames as black smoke billowed high into the afternoon sky. Browerville, Long Prairie and Osakis Fire Department also responded to the blaze which began just before noon.

The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time. Nobody has been reported injured. Todd County police directed traffic on Highway 71, a main artery to the north for weekend travelers.
