Arthur N. Middendorf

Arthur N. “Art” Middendorf, age 75 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully in his loving wife’s arms on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating with Rev. Tim Wenzel concelebrating. Interment was at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a rosary by the Christian Mothers.

Elizabeth “Bette” Ann Schneider, age 87, of Sauk Centre, died on May 15, 2016, at CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Her son, Rev. Todd Schneider, will officiate with concelebrating priests. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

William Irvin Barrows

William Irvin Barrows
William Irvin Barrows, age 80, passed away on May 11, 2016, at his residence in Clarksville, Tenn. He was born on March 3, 1936, in Faulkton, S.D., to the late Douglas and Katherine Sisson Barrows. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Barrows.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Wilhelm Barrows of Clarksville; two sons, Daniel and David Barrows; daughter Deann Barrows; brother Charles Barrows, and sister, Clara Klettke. 
Visitation with the family was held at Gateway Funeral Home on Saturday, May 14.  Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 15, at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Clarksville.

Paul Joseph Mackedanz
Paul Joseph Mackedanz age 23 of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Cologne, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, in Houston, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Wednesday May 4, 2016, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (875 Manomin Avenue South) in St. Paul. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church (300 Church Street East) in Cologne and Wednesday one hour prior to the Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Interment was in the St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery.
Paul was born on May 19, 1992, in Shakopee, and baptized into the Catholic faith on May 28. He has been a strong soldier for Christ and Our Lady by practicing and witnessing his faith all his short life. Paul loved his family and friends and charmed everyone with his infectious and constant smile. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He never missed a chance to play with his nieces and nephews when they would see him.

Joan Moore
Joan Moore, age 65 of Prior Lake, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. A visitation was held from 9:30-11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, with a memorial service that began at 11 a.m. all at St. Michael Catholic Church, 16311 Duluth Ave. SE, Prior Lake. Joan was laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Joan is the beloved wife of Thomas Patrick Moore and the daughter of Olive Meller (nee Schiller) and the late Ralph Meller. She is also survived by her siblings, Elaine (Allen) Walter, Earl (Joan) Meller, Linda (David) Fuchs; sisters-in-law, Mary, Maureen, Kathleen Moore; brother-in-law, Michael (Rita) Moore; nieces and nephews, Michael (Katie), Jeffrey (Kelly), Lorraine and Kathrine Walter, Nicholas and Christopher Meller, Tom and Will Moore; great-nephew and niece, Will and Anna Walter; other relatives and friends.

Russell E. “Russ” Froemming, age 68 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at his home in Sauk Centre.

Geraldine Elfering
It is with great sadness that the Elfering family announces that Geraldine “Gerri” Anne Elfering passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016, after a week-long battle with complications from diabetes, kidney and heart failure.
Gerri was born on May 24, 1943, in Melrose, to Julitta and Joseph Riley. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1961 and was
united in marriage to Ervin Elfering on Aug. 31, 1963, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. They raised their three boys on the farm in Freeport, later moving to Melrose, Sauk Centre and finally Wyoming.

John “Jack” Tegels
John “Jack” Tegels, age 71, a lifetime resident of Sauk Centre, died peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Getty Street Assisted Living in Sauk Centre.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Sauk Centre.
John Alex Tegels was born on Dec. 15, 1944, the son of John Joseph and Cecilia Barbara (Bromenshenkel) Tegels in Alexandria. “Jack” attended school and graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1962. Following high school, he worked on the family farm and later worked at Kraft Plant in Melrose and Standard Iron in Sauk Centre for a short time. Then, Jack attended Alexandria Technical School for truck driving. After his training, he began driving over-the-road for 20 years. He worked with MCT and Hedge LLR Trucking in Sioux Falls, S.D., with his last run being to Texas in 2013.
