Three geese decoys were taken from a display at the D-Trading Post and Historic Town east of Sauk Centre, located along the Lake Wobegon Trail.
Owner Dick Young is hoping someone has seen these decoys or the two teenagers who were seen with them.
The incident occurred the afternoon of June 10. Young was notified of the possible theft when he received a phone call from a biker who was driving on the trail to Sauk Centre at the time and saw two young boys running around in a field with the decoys. On his return trip the biker met the two boys driving on the trail, each wearing helmets, carrying the decoys on their bikes.
“He told me to check my decoys near the Tepee, and I did and they were gone,” said Young, who has been driving bike along the trail since then in search of the decoys.
He reported the theft to the Sauk Centre Police Department and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspected individuals were described as about 14 years old and Caucasian. They were both riding mountain bikes; one black or deep blue the other black with multicolored flames on the front.
Anyone with information or if they know where the decoys are are encouraged to contact the Sauk Centre Police Department at (320) 351-7022 or the sheriff’s department at (320) 259-3700.
