Randy H. Olson, age 78, of Sauk Centre, died peacefully Oct. 2, 2024, at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud.

A visitation was Oct. 8 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Following the visitation was a graveside service at Little Sauk-Long Bridge Lutheran Cemetery in rural Sauk Centre with Jake Holck officiating. Military honors was by the Little Sauk American Legion. 

Randy Howard Olson was born April 12, 1946, in Willmar, to Wilford and Vera (George) Olson. He was raised in Sauk Centre and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965. He was honorably discharged in 1968 and again in 1972. Randy moved back to Sauk Centre after the military, where he began driving truck for various companies including the family trucking business. He then went to work for Dale Melin Feeder Pigs where he retired. He was a member of Little Sauk-Long Bridge Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the Little Sauk American Legion Post 417. 

 He enjoyed watching TV, watching western movies and reading western books. 

Randy is survived by his son, Randy (Misty) Olson of Kearney, Missouri; four grandchildren, Logan, Owen, Claire and Connor Olson; one great-granddaughter, Mila Olson; brothers and sisters, Clifford (Carol) Olson of Fishers, Indiana, LeRoy Olson of Swanville, Edith Mayers of Sauk Centre, George (Susan) Olson of Long Prairie, and Debra Olson of Hemet, California; and his cat, My Girl.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents; Wilford Olson on Aug. 18, 1989, and Vera Olson on Sept. 19, 2015; and brothers, Richard and Thomas Olson.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
