Eleanore “Ellie” W. Scott-Meyer

Posted

Jan. 10, 1940 to Jan. 16, 2024 84 years Young

Ellie was known for her love of life, centering on her family and many good friends. She was always an avid card player, game enthusiast, and cribbage player, and she learned fast never to miss any pegging points while playing cribbage with her dad, brothers and many others.

She loved cooking and entertaining large groups with her never-ending arsenal of fantastic cinnamon rolls, breads, waffles, pies, and homemade strawberry-rhubarb and raspberry jams. Her favorite memories were of great picnics at Phalen Lake with her family, brothers, sister, nieces and nephews.

Always a hard worker, she ran circles around most of us. She worked for 30-plus years at UPS and her small businesses, Scott’s Flowers, and Paintball Games. She loved to give you the biggest hug and warmest of smiles. She was always there to help, if needed, volunteering at her local hospital and was very involved in her church and community.

Ellie peacefully passed away in her “Happy Place” in Texas. She was surrounded by her husband and partner in crime, Dean Meyer; her beloved daughters Marianne, Cathy, Jane and Carolyn; bonus daughter Trina Wybierala; and niece Keri Freund.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Meyer; daughters Marianne Matzke (Lew), Cathy Casavant (Steve), Jane Riege (Tony) and Carolyn Knutson Border; and son, Greg Scott; bonus daughter Trina Wybierala; stepchildren Bobbie (Ann), Shawn (Molly), Jason (Amy) and Andy (Jessie) Meyer.
